PROTECHNICS DIVISION

ProTechnics, a Core Lab Production Enhancement division, is dedicated to providing the energy industry with state-of-the-art completion diagnostic services designed to maximize oil recovery and to enhance production. ProTechnics processes and places more radioactive tracers in oilfield procedures than any other company.

ProTechnics Company was founded in 1983 as a service company dedicated to providing state-of-the-art radioactive tracing services to the energy industry. Operating out of fifteen domestic locations and in more than 20 countries around the world, ProTechnics provides complete design, field engineering, and completion diagnostic services to clients in virtually every major producing basin of the world.

Tracing applications currently provided by ProTechnics include fracturing, acidizing, cementing, fluid loss, depth control, and Improved Oil Recovery (field flood) Services. ProTechnics maintains a chemical laboratory to formulate and analyze various tracers. Our regulatory compliance department interacts with the NRC and various regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations. ProTechnics Radiation Consulting division provides consulting services and nuclear handling training for several major service companies and operators. NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material) audits and clean-up recommendations are also performed by this group.

SpectraTek Services, a wholly owned subsidiary in Albuquerque, New Mexico, packages and ships radioactive isotopes to ProTechnics, as well as other oilfield service companies around the world.

In 1995, ProTechnics acquired the Tracerscan spectral gamma ray logging technology from Halliburton. The tool has been adapted to run as a self-contained memory service, SpectraScan®, which can be deployed via slickline, electric wireline, washpipe, or coiled tubing. The SpectraScan® Image provides the most complete wellbore image available.

The Washpipe Conveyed SpectraScan® Imager received a 1997 Meritorious Engineering Award. In 1999, ProTechnics introduced a memory production logging service, The Completion Profiler, which measures fluid flow rates and holdups as well as temperature and pressure. When combining the Completion Profile with Zero Wash tracers and SpectraScan Imaging, ProTechnics offers the most complete analysis of your completion effectiveness. Our Completion Diagnostics Center, with over 100 years of stimulation and log interpretation experience provides detailed analysis and recommendations to our clients utilizing the best available technologies.
